What am I all about? 

About Me

Currently a lecturer who loves building things with code. I bring my creativity from love of art and books but also attention to detail from my background in teaching. I first became enthralled with programming in 2014, starting software development course after graduating. I have an interest in psychology of animal behaviour, so was fascinated at the ability to communicate through code and provide functioning applications on the computer. I then got a job as a lecturer and had less time to learn.

Once covid hit I then had more time on my hands. I started learning again. Specifically, web development, and soon realised that I could bring my love of coding into work. I created a website which also allows students to input their address and to view local work placements in their area on a map.

After a few months of self-teaching, I knew this was what I wanted to do for my career. So, I signed up for a udemy course in web development and put my heart and soul into it. I was coding nearly every day, late into the night, and on weekends. Since the course, I have grown as a developer, gaining an understanding of accessibility, DRY code and gaining more experience through more courses online. I'm now seeking a role where I can contribute my skills both in coding and business to help a company achieve their goals.
